WABetaInfo has spotted the new feature in WhatsApp's latest beta version, 2.23.11.15, for Android. As a rule, new WhatsApp features first appear in the Android app, and then are rolled out to the iOS app.

To fix a typo or edit the already sent text in the message, all you need to do now is long-press on a sent message you want to change and choose "Edit" from the menu. The person who received the message will see that it has been edited.

Each phone connects to WhatsApp independently, making sure that all calls, personal messages, media files, and other data are synced across devices and end-to-end encrypted.

The references to the feature have been spotted in beta version 2.23.5.3 of the app for Android devices. It should be noted that the feature is currently in the early stages of development and is slated to ship in the app's future update.

To see if you have the new feature, start a new chat, and see if your contact is showing up at the top of your contacts list. Once you click on that, you'll be able to save some notes, files, links, reminders, or anything else you need to remember.

To start using this feature, you need to open the new Communities tab, which can be found at the top of your chats on Android or at the bottom on iOS. Here you can both create a new Community and add existing groups to a new Community.

According to WABetaInfo, the messaging platform has started testing the subscription plan for certain business users with the latest beta update on iOS and Android via TestFlight and the Play Store.

Other popular video conferencing platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams offer similar functionality where hosts can mute all or specific participants, but WhatsApp now allows any participant of the group call to mute whoever they want.

The feature will work similarly to the one available on Telegram. After tapping or long pressing on the message, WhatsApp users will see a row of emoji right above it. At the moment, the list of reactions includes six emoji.
