Meta-owned WhatsApp messenger has introduced an optional Business Premium subscription plan for WhatsApp Business users.

According to WABetaInfo, the messaging platform has started testing the subscription plan for certain business users with the latest beta update on iOS and Android via TestFlight and the Play Store. Users will get a 30-day free trial period before they subscribe.

WhatsApp Lets People Mute Individual Users During Group Calls
Other popular video conferencing platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams offer similar functionality where hosts can mute all or specific participants, but WhatsApp now allows any participant of the group call to mute whoever they want.

While WhatsApp Business and its existing tools remain free, a monthly Premium subscription will give users access to advanced tools that can support their growth and help them leverage additional business options provided by the messaging app.

As part of the paid subscription, business users will be able to:

  • Create a customizable business contact link and change it every 90 days. You can share this link with customers to advertise your business.
  • Link up to 10 devices to the same account. This way, employees can connect and manage the same business account.
WhatsApp Is Testing Crypto Payments Through Novi Wallet
WhatsApp users will be able to send and receive cryptocurrency instantly thanks to an integration with the Novi digital wallet. It is noted that sending and receiving money via WhatsApp will be as easy as sending messages.

WhatsApp Business users can activate the subscription right in WhatsApp Settings. You can learn more about how to do it here.

Since the subscription is still in beta, WhatsApp hasn't released an official statement, so the exact launch date or pricing of the new subscription is unknown, but it will vary from country to country.
