Withings has unveiled its latest innovation at CES 2024 – the BeamO. This groundbreaking at-home health device combines a thermometer, pulse oximeter, electrocardiogram (EKG), and stethoscope, providing users with a comprehensive health monitoring solution.
The BeamO's sleek design resembles Withings' contactless thermometers, but it houses advanced sensors, including photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, electrodes, a digital stethoscope, and a second-generation infrared temperature sensor. The device also features electrodes for EKG readings, allowing users to detect atrial fibrillation.
What sets the BeamO apart is its integrated stethoscope functionality, made possible by a piezoelectric disc. This disc captures acoustic sounds from the chest or back and converts them into electrical signals, which can be accessed through the device and transferred to the Withings app. Users can also stream the audio directly to healthcare providers during telehealth sessions.
The BeamO offers a holistic approach to health monitoring, allowing users to track temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and respiratory health—all from a single device. It simplifies the process for families who can easily share the device among multiple members.
While many of these health measurements can already be taken at home using separate devices, the BeamO's integration streamlines the process and offers convenience
Withings aims to launch the BeamO in June 2024, pending regulatory approval.
