Snapchat+ Hits 4 Million Paid Subscribers a Year After Launch

Snapchat's subscription service, Snapchat+, has achieved a significant milestone, reaching 4 million paid subscribers in its first year since launching. Along with this announcement, the company unveiled two upcoming features that will be available to subscribers.

Snap Announces Paid Subscription Plan Called Snapchat+
It is reported that with Snapchat+, users will be able to customize the app’s icon, see who rewatched their story, and pin one of their friends to the top of the chat history as a “BFF.” However, the new subscription will not feature disabled ads.

The first feature, "Expressive Chat Messages," allows users to send messages in larger font sizes, adding a touch of personalization to their chats. The second feature, "Custom Chat Colors," enables users to choose the color in which their name appears during conversations. This feature allows for a more customized and visually appealing chat experience.

Snapchat Introduced Pixy, a Pocket-Sized Flying Camera
Snap describes Pixy as your friendly flying camera, adding that it is a pocket-sized, free-flying sidekick suitable for adventures big and small. The new camera is available for $229.99 while in stock.

Although the number of paid subscribers continues to grow steadily, it represents only a small portion of Snapchat's 375 million daily active users. Since its launch in June 2022, Snapchat+ has introduced various notable features, including the AI-powered chatbot "My AI." Initially exclusive to subscribers, the chatbot later became available to all users, with exclusive perks remaining for subscribers.

Snapchat+ offers subscribers access to experimental and pre-release features, custom app themes, unique app icons, the ability to prioritize a best friend, and more.

The subscription service is available in several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
