The symptoms of COVID-19 vary significantly from person to person. That is why many companies are now developing alternative preliminary methods of testing for coronavirus. For example, the Israeli company Vocalis Health uses your voice to check if you have COVID-19.

Preliminary COVID-19 screening can be complex, mainly because of the sheer number of symptoms that vary from person to person. Of course, there are basic ones, including fever, cough, sore throat, loss of smell and taste. But even the presence of one or more of these symptoms does not mean that a person is sick with coronavirus.

To take a test, you need to go to a testing center, clinic, or hospital. But you won't do it after every little sneeze. Therefore, preliminary checks can also be helpful.

One of the most straightforward and most exciting solutions is offered by the Israeli startup Vocalis Health. The company has developed an application that determines a disease's presence based on human voice analysis. AI analyzes 512 features of the voice and creates an image, a spectrogram, with which you can diagnose possible diseases.

The company has already researched in India. Two thousand participants installed the app on their smartphones to track their health. As a result, the algorithm detected the coronavirus with an accuracy of 81,2%. The company plans to improve its AI's performance further to identify diseases even more accurately.
