Google Introduced an App That Lets iOS Users Wirelessly Switch to Android
Google has introduced a new app that lets you easily transfer data when switching from iPhone to Android. 9to5google noticed the app dubbed Switch to Android, which is already available on the App Store.
While switching from one Android smartphone to another is relatively easy, transferring data from iPhone to Android is rather complicated since it requires creating backups to Google Drive and manual data recovery.
Apple has long offered a handy way to transfer data from Android to iPhone – the company has a dedicated Move to iOS app on Google Play, so Google now has a similar app, too.
By now, you can access the Switch to Android app through a direct link. 9to5google was able to install the app on iPhone and run it. The team published a video with more information about the application and how to use it.
First, the app explains what will be transferred from the iPhone to Android, including photos, videos, contacts, and calendar events. Then it asks you to scan a QR code from your Android phone. Once connected, most of the important data will be transmitted wirelessly.
