According to a new report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has recently showed off its mixed reality headset to Apple's board of directors. This could mean that the project is in the final stages of development, and the company may launch it publicly in the near future.

The report also says that the development of the headset's rOS operating system has also accelerated in recent months.

Apple’s WWDC 2022 Will Be Held in an Online Format
Apple has officially announced the dates for WWDC 2022, its annual developer conference, which will take place June 6-10. The event will be held online for the third year in a row.

The Cupertino company's eight-member board and Apple CEO Tim Cook meet at least four times a year, and the prototype of the headset was presented during the latest meeting.

Apple has reportedly been working on releasing the headset since 2019. There has been some speculation that Apple may announce its AR/VR headset at Apple's upcoming WWDC keynote presentation on June 6. If true, this will probably be an early announcement, as a consumer launch of the headset is planned for 2023.
