Twitter will launch the Super Follows subscription for major creators who have 10K followers and at least 25 tweets in the last month, social media outlets report, citing app researcher Jane Manchun Wong.
According to Wong, Super Follows will allow Twitter users with at least 10,000 followers and 25 tweets in the last 30 days to charge money for their content. Super Follows authors must be 18 years of age or older.
Previously, the social media platform announced that subscribing to Super Followers would provide bonus content, such as exclusive tweets from authors. Wong discovered a list of content categories that users can subscribe to. They include sports, podcasting, and others. She noted that "adult content" and "OnlyFans" are listed among other content platforms, such as Facebook, Substack, Patreon, Twitch, and YouTube.
Twitter officials did not comment on Wong's data, but the company said the paid subscription feature for popular accounts would give users access to additional content. Earlier, Jane Manchun Wong published the result of a study according to which a paid subscription to the social network itself will cost $2.99 per month. Twitter Blue will enable exclusive platform features and is already being tested in Canada and Australia.
