Tesla's Humanoid Robot Prototype Might Be Ready by September
Elon Musk announced on Twitter that this year, the company might unveil a working prototype of its humanoid robot Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus. The presentation will take place during the Tesla AI Day event on September 30, 2022, which was initially scheduled for August 19.

This event will be Tesla's second Artificial Intelligence Day. The first one was held on August 20, last year, when Elon Musk announced that the company was working on a humanoid robot.
Optimus is a human-sized robot that will be produced at Tesla plants and will help people with everyday tasks, such as buying groceries, catching pets, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 kilograms.
During the presentation, it was noted that the height of this robot would be about 176 cm, and its weight – about 58 kg. The developers will limit the capabilities of the robot's mechanisms so that any person could stop it with their hands during physical contact or run away from Tesla Bot. The maximum speed of the robot in running mode will be limited to 8 km/h.
Instead of a face, Optimus will have a screen featuring useful information. The electronics of the robot will be powered by the same chips and sensors used by Tesla in its electric vehicles.
In April 2022, Musk announced plans to begin producing the first version of humanoid robots in 2023.
