Microsoft Copilot Is Now Available as an App on iOS and Android
Microsoft's Copilot, formerly known as Bing Chat, has expanded its accessibility by releasing dedicated apps for both iOS and Android, as well as iPadOS. The Copilot app offers users the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to draft text, answer questions, and even generate images, all powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 technology.
The Copilot app's features include text generation, email drafting, text summarization, and the capability to create images through integration with DALL·E 3, a text-to-image generator. This innovative app, which is available for free, provides access to the advanced ChatGPT-4 model, eliminating the need for a subscription that is typically required to access this level of AI functionality.
Microsoft's rebranding of Bing Chat to Copilot in 2022 signaled its shift towards offering a standalone experience similar to ChatGPT. The introduction of dedicated apps for Android and iOS, along with an existing web version, expands Copilot's reach and availability, potentially indicating Microsoft's intention to replace the Bing app with Copilot.
