Ethereum's Co-Founder Anthony Di Iorio Quits Cryptocurrency
Ethereum cryptocurrency co-founder Anthony Di Iorio announced plans to quit the crypto industry completely. Personal safety concerns largely caused this decision – the entrepreneur has been traveling accompanied by security guards since 2017.
“It’s got a risk profile that I am not too enthused about. I don't feel necessarily safe in this space. If I was focused on larger problems, I think I'd be safer,” he said.
In the coming weeks, Di Iorio plans to sell Decentral, his company that focuses on the software development of decentralized technologies. Its development, the Jaxx wallet, attracted nearly a million customers last year. According to experts, its cost is estimated at several hundred million dollars. Di Iorio is already in talks with several potential investors, but he expects to sell it exclusively for fiat money or shares of another company.
Di Iorio is currently working on Project Arrow, which aims to create a zero-emission vehicle.
Di Iorio co-founded Ethereum blockchain in 2013. Nowadays, the market value of ether, the network's token, has reached about $225 billion. Over the years, Di Iorio has been involved in venture capital investment and startup consulting, but he expects to quit other startups over time, and does not intend to fund blockchain projects anymore.
