Apple has officially released iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 with loads of new exciting features. Some of them include a set of new emojis, Universal Control for iPads and Mac computers, as well as the ability to unlock one's iPhone with Face ID while wearing a face mask.
Face mask-friendly Face ID
One of the most notable features of the new OS is the ability to unlock one's iPhone while wearing a face mask. iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 users can now unlock their devices with Face ID without having to use the Apple Watch – the system now recognizes the unique features around your eyes to identify the face. Once iOS 15.4 is installed, the feature should be activated in the smartphone settings.
A set of new emojis
iOS updates often bring lots of new emojis, and iOS 15.4 is no exception. This update includes 37 new emojis. Such emojis as melting face, biting lips icon, saluting face, bubbles, beans, snapping hand, and more are now available to Apple users.
Universal Control
Apple has released iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3, finally bringing the long-awaited Universal Control feature announced last summer. It's one of those Apple ecosystem things that makes it even easier to use a Mac and an iPad tablet together.
Universal Control allows you to more easily interact with Mac and iPad authorized to the same iCloud account at the same time and control multiple Macs and iPads simultaneously using a single keyboard and mouse. The feature works seamlessly once necessary updates are installed.
The Universal Control feature also allows for seamless copying of files from one device to another with a simple drag-and-drop transfer using the mouse. Thus, you can move files from your iPad to your Mac in a single click wirelessly.
